ROCK STARS.

They are the epitomy of hardcore testosterone-filled machoism.Rock concerts are so spectacular,so enticing,you always leave the arena covered in sweat - both yours and hundreds of other people's.Majority of the legendary Rock bands are all-male,seldom do you find a woman playing a crazy guitar solo or running around on stage thrusting her hips towards the audience while hitting an unbelievably high note using her falsetto.

Rock music is masculinity at its best,it makes a guy feel like a real dude.

Why then,do so many Rock stars indulge in androgyny?

Freddy Mercury,David Bowie aka Ziggy Stardust,Brian Molko and Gerard Way are artistes who parade around in their made up faces and effeminate ways without shame,yet even straight men worship and idolize them.

I was watching the Freddy Mercury/Queen tribute concert VCD Ollie got me for my 18th birthday,and as the short clips of Freddy Mercury played during the short breaks between bands,I was reminded of my obesession with the Glam Rock era a while ago.After watching Velvet Goldmine,it compelled me to dig deeper into my fascination with artistes from the Glam Rock era.It was a time for drugs,booze,cigarettes,and sex.Lots of it.Be it man-on-woman,man-on-man or man-on-man-on-woman-on-man-on-woma......

You get the idea.

Don't get me wrong,I'm not here to slam any of the above situations I've brought up.

I'm a SUCKER for androgyny.Especially androgynous rockers.

love that whole "I'm a guy,but I don't give a fuck about what people think if I act or dress this way" attitude.I like extremes - guys with long and curly hair or just a buzz cut.
